Local fallen hero honored by House of Representatives

NORTH VERNON, Ind. – On January 27, Jennings County local and State Representative Alex Zimmerman honored one of Jennings County’s fallen heroes, Marine Corps Lance Corporal (LCpl.) Jacky Koenig, Jr. LCpl.

Koenig grew up in Jennings County and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2015. Tragically, LCpl. Koenig passed away in a training exercise in Okinawa, Japan, in 2017.

House Concurrent Resolution 7 calls for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) to name the State Road Road 7 Bridge over the Vernon Fork in Jennings County in honor of LCpl. Koenig. The resolution now moves to the Senate for consideration.
