The mission of WJCP is to use radio programming to support, promote, inform and entertain the people and institutions of Jennings County, Indiana.
WOCH 1460-AM signed on the air in 1955. It was the brainchild of Dorrell Ochs, who saw the station as vehicle for the support of Christian ministry.
The original studio was located in the back of Ochs Auto Supply on East Walnut in downtown North Vernon. Within a short time a broadcast studio was build on west U.S. 50, a building now housing the Jennings County Economic Development offices. The station still broadcasts from the tower located at that site.
Over the years the call letters changed to WINN, WNVI, and WJCP (Jennings County Panthers.) For a short while the call letters were WKRP, letters made famous by a television show of a similar name.
In October 2011 the station was purchased from Pieratt Communications by Tom and Diana Taylor. It currently broadcasts from a studio located on Highway 7, approximately one mile north of North Vernon.
